Ionic Lithium LiFePO4 12V 10A Charger

These chargers are constant current, constant voltage (CCCV) “Smart” chargers for 12V LiFePO or lead-acid batteries. “Smart” chargers stop charging once it reaches 14.6V.

For safety reasons, the charger times out and stops charging after 72 hours of continuous use. This is indicated by blinking red LEDs. To activate the charger again, simply disconnect and reconnect the power cable.

  • This smart charger provides a constant current and voltage but will automatically stop charging once you hit 14 volts. This helps maximize the life of your lithium battery.

Ionic Lithium Deep Cycle 12V30-EP has 12 volts and a 30Ah capacity and is perfect for powering your deep cycle systems. Ionic Deep Cycle has an internal microprocessor-controlled battery management system (BMS) that monitors the key operational parameters during charging and discharging, such as voltages, currents and internal temperatures. Ionic Deep Cycle Batteries can be hooked up 4 in series and as many needed in parallel.
The 12V 30Ah can also be used for recreational fishing that provides 6-8 hours of trolling on a 36V system. Not recommended for tournament fishing.

Built for Longer Lasting Reliable Power

The Ionic Deep Cycle Battery has a cycle life of 3,000 cycles or about 10 calendar years. Our lithium batteries have a usable capacity of 99% compared to 50-60% for traditional lead-acid batteries]. LithiumHub Deep Cycle batteries function in the widest range of temperatures with a discharge temperature range (Functional) of –20°C to 60°C (–4°F to 140°F) and a charge temperature range of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F). Automatically detects if batteries are too cold to take a charge.

The Ionic Deep Cycle Lithium Battery line has the best weight-to-power ratio on the market

At 6.5” (L) x 7.7″ (W) x 7.0” (H) and weighing only 11.7 lbs., the Ionic Deep Cycle 12V30-EP has the best size-to-power ratio compared to any deep cycle battery on the market. Connectors: M6 screws allow you to install the battery in any direction, unlike lead-acid batteries (which are fixed). Ionic Deep Cycle Batteries’ monthly self-discharge rate is 1-3%. Compare that to lead-acid batteries’ 30% monthly self-discharge rate. The max charge voltage is 14.6V and the discharge cut-off voltage is 10.5V. The max charge current is 15A and the max discharge current is 40A / 170A(3s). You can use solar chargers to charge these batteries. You can use most traditional lead-acid chargers too (the ones without “Desulfate” mode) as long as the current levels do not exceed lithium battery charge specification. A traditional lead-acid charger that reaches 14.4-14.6 volts will fully charge the battery. Chargers that do not exceed 13.6 volts will only charge the battery to 50% capacity or less.

Will this battery power my fish finder or sonar on my kayak?

Yes. The compact 12V 30Ah is a popular choice for running fish finders and sonar units (like Humminbird Helix and Garmin units) on kayaks and small boats. At just 11.7 lbs and 6.5″ × 7.7″ × 7.0″, it fits easily in a kayak hatch, and it lets you run your electronics without draining your starting battery.

How long will it run my electronics?

Runtime depends on your device’s draw, but with 30Ah / 384Wh of capacity and 99% usable depth of discharge, this battery comfortably powers a typical fish finder for a full day on the water — many customers report fishing 8-10 hours and finishing with well over half the charge remaining. The Ionic Bluetooth app shows real-time remaining runtime based on your actual current draw.

Can I use this for a 36V trolling motor?

You can — three in series makes a 36V system that provides about 6-8 hours of trolling for recreational fishing. However, because of its smaller 30Ah capacity, it’s not recommended for tournament fishing or heavy all-day trolling; for that, step up to a higher-capacity battery like the 12V 60Ah or 100Ah.

What charger do I need, and how long does it take to charge?

You’ll want a LiFePO4-compatible 12V charger such as the Ionic 12V 10A or 12V 4A charger — the 4A model fully charges this battery in about 7.5 hours. It’s also compatible with NOCO Gen Pro, Dual Pro PS/Auto, Minn Kota Precision, and other smart lithium chargers. You can use solar chargers and most lead-acid chargers that reach 14.4 – 14.6V (without a “Desulfate” mode). Chargers below 13.6V will only charge to 50% or less.

Can I connect multiple batteries in series or parallel?

Yes. You can connect up to 4 in series (for 24V, 36V, or 48V systems) and as many as needed in parallel to extend run time. The M6 terminals also let you install the battery in any orientation.
