Ionic Lithium Battery Deep Cycle 12V30-EP
World Class Safety Features
Ionic Lithium Deep Cycle 12V30-EP has 12 volts and a 30Ah capacity and is perfect for powering your deep cycle systems. Ionic Deep Cycle has an internal microprocessor controlled battery management system (BMS) that monitors the key operational parameters during charging and discharging, such as voltages, currents and internal temperatures. Ionic Deep Cycle Batteries can be hooked up 4 in series and as many needed in parallel.
The 12V 30Ah can also be used for recreational fishing that provides 6-8 hours of trolling on a 36V system. Not recommended for tournament fishing.
Built for Long Lasting Reliable Power
The Ionic Deep Cycle Battery has a cycle life of 3,000 cycles or about 10 calendar years. Our lithium-ion batteries have a usable capacity of 99% compared to 50-60% for traditional lead-acid batteries]. LithiumHub Deep Cycle batteries function in the widest range of temperatures with a discharge temperature range (Functional) of –20°C to 60°C (–4°F to 140°F) and a charge temperature range of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F). Automatically detects if batteries are too cold to take a charge.
The Ionic Deep Cycle Lithium Battery line has the best weight to power ratio on the market
At 6.5” (L) x 7.7″ (W) x 7.0” (H) and weighing only 11.7 lbs., the Ionic Deep Cycle 12V30-EP has the best size to power ratio of any deep cycle battery on the market. Connectors: M6 screws allow the battery to be installed in any direction unlike lead-acid batteries which are fixed. Ionic Deep Cycle Batteries self-discharge rate per month is between 1-3% compared to lead-acid batteries which are about 30%. Max charge voltage is 14.6V and the discharge cut-off voltage is 10.5V. Max charge current is 15A and max discharge current is 40A / 170A(3s). Can be charged with solar chargers. Can be charged with most traditional lead-acid chargers that do not have “Desulfate” mode, provided the current levels do not exceed lithium battery charge specification. Using a traditional lead-acid charger that reaches 14.4-14.6 volts will allow the battery to be fully charged. Chargers that do not exceed 13.6 volts will only charge the battery to 50% capacity or less.

Question
KENNETH ANDERSON –
I need a small lithium starting battery for a 20hp outboard. It will start the o/b and run a small mini jackplate. This was accomplished using an odyssey 12V, prior. Do you have anything that would work in this situation? Weight is the most important factor.

MK –
Our 12V50Ah battery could be an option to use to start your 20hp motor. It would also allow to run some graphs or other electronic equipment you might be using. Currently we do not have a smaller battery for your engine starting needs.

Ryan Kemp –
I have a 112 ultrex, will 3 12volt 30ah batteries in series power my trolling motor all day?

MK –
The run time will vary on fishing style and boat. I would estimate using 3 pieces of the 12V30Ah batteries for a 36V 112ultrex trolling motor with ~80ftlbs of thrust would last ~4-6 hours

Jason Wienke –
Needing a battery just for a garmin gpsmap 1222 and livescope only. Any recommendations. Sometimes fish for 12+ hours

It would depend how much current the equipment uses. That type of equipment might use ~5A. In on hour it would use 5Ah. Using a 30Ah battery at 5A draw would last 30Ah/5A => 6hrs as an example

Question
Dan –
So a 12V30-EP is recommended for a kayak. Average run time is 6 to 8 hours if you have 3 in series for 36 volts. That would make the trolling motor 101 to 111 pounds of thrust on the front of my kayak? My minn kota maxxum 101 would look really cool on my kayak, but it seems like your jumping all over the place, from kayak to bass boat. Dont you have a 12 volt run time for a 30 amp hour battery at 30 or 55 pounds thrust?

Everyone’s fishing style is different. For a 12V30Ah battery on a 12V 30-50ft/lb thrust motor will most likely get 2-4 hours. A 12V50Ah battery on a 12V 30-50ft/lb thrust motor will most likely get 3-5 hours.

Question
Tere Carrubba (verified owner) –
I love the battery because it is so light – we use it to take our skiff (an achilles) but we can’t use it at high speed (which is #5) otherwise the battery stops working but if we set it at 4 it is ok. Thoughts?

The 12V30Ah battery has current limit settings like all of our other batteries. The current limit systems help protect the battery that are at different levels depending what battery is being used. When running a 12V trolling motor those current can exceed the max rated battery current thus the battery turns off. After a couple of minutes the battery does reset itself to let you continue but do avoid to max current draw with your trolling motor. The 12V30Ah battery is one of our smaller batteries used for trolling. The larger batteries 12V50Ah, 12V100Ah and 12V125Ah typically don’t run into that issue.

All of our batteries have current limit settings to help protect the battery. The 12V30Ah is one of our smaller batteries that most likely you are passing the peak continuous current thus turning off. If you wait a couple minutes the battery should have auto reset. In your case, it would be best not to go full thrust with your system when using the 12V30Ah. With our larger batteries 12V50Ah, 12V100Ah and 12V125Ah that issues typically does not come up when trolling even with full thrust.
