Take Your Adventures Up A Notch With A Heated Lithium Battery

It’s 11 pm, and the camper feels like an icebox. You flip on a light switch, but no dice. The power’s not working. Something must be wrong with your house battery. You grab a flashlight and stumble over to check. Sure enough, it’s out of juice. But it’s way too cold to charge it.

Been there? An unexpected cold snap can leave you in the dark–literally. But not if you have a heated lithium battery.

Lithium batteries have the widest functional temperature range of any deep-cycle battery. But even they can’t take a charge below 0°C. Heated lithium batteries solve this problem by including a built-in warmer. Read all about it below!

How a Heated Lithium Battery Works

LiFePO4 lithium batteries function without issue in temperatures of –20°C to 60°C (–4°F to 140°F). You can charge them when the temperature is between 0°C and 45°C (32°F to 113°F). They will automatically detect when it’s too cold to take a charge.

So what happens if the thermostat hits, say -1°C? When you plug your lithium battery in, its BMS (battery management system) will prevent it from charging.

But it’s a different story if you’ve invested in a heated lithium battery. Its innovative heating system is automatic and seamless. So you can go ahead and plug your battery into the charger. The internal heating components will kick in, bringing the cells to an acceptable temperature. Once that temperature is reached, your battery will begin to charge.

Why a Heated Lithium Battery Changes the Game

It’s time to turn the heat up on your adventures! And by that, we’re saying you can banish cold battery anxiety for good. How? With a heated lithium battery.

Think of them like snow tires for your car. Indispensable in winter! But they’re also like all-weather tires, saving you from that occasional flurry that threatens to send your tires into a spin.

A heated battery is a must-have for RV enthusiasts who might hit frigid temps from time to time. Or anyone who has snowy camping locations on their bucket list. But that’s not all.

Here’s what else you can do with this beast of a battery:

    • Cold weather hunting
    • Powering lights or cameras in outdoor, remote places
    • Ice fishing
    • Snow camping
    • Visit your bucket list of northern destinations
    • Connect to solar for reliable power off-grid
    • Year-round van or RV living
    • Back-up emergency power during a winter storm power outage
    • Get out and stay out longer, without weather worries.
    • Commercial use: floor sweepers, lift gates. No wasted work hours due to unusable batteries.

So don’t put your wanderlust in hibernation for the winter. Get out there and do what you love– with a heated lithium battery! What are your 24V Trolling and starting options? Find out here.

    Heated Lithium Battery Types

It’s important to make sure your heated lithium battery is the right size for your application.

LithiumHub offers heated batteries in the following sizes:

The 12V 125Ah heated lithium battery is the perfect choice for an RV house battery, solar setup, or commercial applications. And if you’re the kind of angler who enjoys year-round fishing, you can use it as a marine deep cycle battery.

Plus, the 12V 125Ah can function as a starter battery compatible with 250 hp Yamaha or Mercury motors. Now nothing can come between you and your adventures–not even a blizzard.

Want something with more amperage? The 12V 300 Ah heated lithium battery might be for you. It can help you weather winter storms in your RV, with plenty of power to go around. You can also use it for starting engines up to 1100A CCA equivalent, or for solar energy storage.

Maybe you already have lead acid or lithium RV batteries. You can replace them in a cinch with lithium heated batteries. They’re drop-in ready. You can link up to 4 in series, and as many as you need in parallel.

They also have the same perks as non-heated lithium batteries, such as:

    • Up to 70% less weight than lead acid batteries.
    • Lightning-fast charge and compatibility with many popular chargers.
    • 3000-5000 average cycle lifetime (10+ years)
    • 99% Depth of Discharge (DOD)
    • See battery status on your phone with Bluetooth
    • Cell balancing and low voltage/over voltage protection
    • Complete BMS system and short-circuit protection

Ready to challenge yourself to some frosty feats and glacial recreation? Your heated lithium battery is the sidekick that won’t let you down. But don’t forget to pack your toasty winter wear and glove warmers. These batteries don’t share their heat. (And that’s a good thing!)
